Shared components

Edit the header once and every page that uses it changes.

The navigation bar is on every page. So is the footer. Maybe a call-to-action band too. Changing a phone number in a footer that was copied onto eleven pages is eleven edits, and you will miss one.

Save a section as a shared component and it stops being a copy. Every page holds a reference to the same thing; edit it anywhere and every page follows. The editor shows you which pages use a component before you change it, so you know what you're touching.

When you'd use it

  • Navigation and footers — the obvious ones, and the ones that go stale the fastest.
  • A call-to-action repeated down a long page or across a section.
  • A card or a testimonial block whose design you want identical everywhere.

If one page needs its own version, detach that copy. It stops following the shared one and becomes ordinary content again.
