Availability

Available on eligible plans

Workspace and website invitations, role enforcement and collaborator allowances are implemented.

Plans
Collaborator allowances vary by plan.
Roles
Only the owner sends, resends, or cancels invitations; administrators, editors, and viewers have narrower product access.
Before you start
A workspace or website and the collaborator's verified email address.

Choose the right access scope #

Use a team workspace when access should span a shared container. Use website access when someone should work only on a particular site. A personal workspace is not a generic shared team container.

Invite each person to their own account. Never share an owner password or copy a session token. Invitations reserve collaborator capacity and are accepted only after the invited address proves mailbox ownership. A pending invitation expires after seven days and must then be sent again by the owner.

Assign the smallest useful role #

RoleUse it forReview carefully
OwnerUltimate workspace and billing responsibilityKeep ownership limited and recoverable.
AdministratorManaging sites and broad configurationOnly the owner can send, resend, or cancel invitations.
EditorChanging content and design within allowed sitesConfirm publish permission for the intended workflow.
ViewerReviewing without modificationUse this for clients or stakeholders who should not save changes.

The server enforces permissions; hiding a control in the interface is not the only protection. Exact actions can vary by workspace and website role assignment.

Invite and verify access #

  1. As the owner, open the website People panel or the relevant workspace member area.
  2. Enter the collaborator's email, choose the scope and role, and confirm that the plan has an available collaborator slot.
  3. The recipient registers or signs in with the invited address, verifies the mailbox, and accepts the pending invitation.
  4. Ask them to open the intended website and perform one representative allowed action. Also confirm a restricted action is absent or rejected.

Review and remove access #

Review membership when a project changes phase, a contractor leaves, or billing responsibility changes. Remove unused invitations so they do not reserve capacity. Lower a role when broad access is no longer needed.

You will know it worked when the invited person sees only the intended workspace or website, can complete their assigned task, cannot perform a restricted operation, and loses access after removal without affecting other members.
